The Week in Review
Posted by PhiloDave on March 12, 2010
So, just in case you missed any of it this week:
- We learned at the Faculty Council meeting this week of a plan about an upcoming lockdown drill, which will require all instructors to have an HW ID to participate. Please make sure you get your ID and have it on you over the next few weeks (and tell your colleagues to do the same). Other stuff happened, too. Check it out.
- The Math Department had an All Discipline Mandatory Meeting on Wednesday (remember this and this?) to hear about research related to a proposed (and likely incoming) total overhaul of developmental math courses. (I’m hoping we’ll get an update from a math colleague either in the comments or by post.)
- The Oscars happened, and a woman won Best Director for the first time ever!
- Spring sprung itself on us.
- A meta post went up, talking about all the traffic on the Harold Lounge and hope for more commentary (thanks to those of you who have jumped in).
- Website Wednesday highlighted some cool videos from TED.
- The deadline for the fall book lists came out (Summer: 3/22; Fall: 3/25), using a new system, managed by Beck’s, that will send the information directly to Beck’s. Who knows? Maybe it will go well…

How can I pipe this sound into my office and set it to loop?

Go here: http://www.naturesongs.com/
Then click on North American Bird Songs. You’ll have to figure out the loop thing from there…
