ReinQuestion?–Vol. 10

ReinQuestion? appears every Thursday and is an open thread for members of the HW and CCC community to post questions about the ongoing Reinvention. Any and all questions are invited, and anyone who knows an answer to any question posted is encouraged to answer it in the threads below.

The questions are dwindling…interesting. Perhaps we should all spend a little time this weekend perusing the “Results” section of the Reinvention Web site. Maybe some new questions will arise.

  1. As far as I can tell, all the task forces are working to collect information. Here are some snippets from the Results page:
    “…have met…”
“…identified specific streams of inquiry to begin examining…”
    “…working to craft a strategy that meets…”
    “…conducted interviews internally and externally”
“…has divided its work into seven key area”
“…each Task Force is studying their respective area…”

So, with all of this studying and gathering of info and interviewing of people going on, my questions are thes:
    1. WHY, oh WHY are so many changes taking place whilst these task forces are only beginning to gather information?
IMHO, there work is being done for them and they are not being recognized for what they will do to reinvent our community college. (I’ve replied in previous posts and will not elaborate here.)
    2. Why aren’t Task Force members asking these questions?
    3. What exactly is the purpose of Reinvention? I know, go to the website. I have done that and it strikes me as odd to read the goals of the task forces and how their findings will have little impact on what District has already done.

    Here’s my analogy:
I am asked to go to the store and buy groceries needed for that evening’s Thanksgiving Dinner, only to find, upon my return, the dinner table laid-out with an afternoon’s version of the meal.

As to why there are no more questions? It’s mid-terms?
