On Wednesday, February 8, YouTube blocked our access to their site due to an errant device within our network sending unknown/questionable network traffic. In blocking access to their site, YouTube was following industry best practices, taking precautionary measures to ensure that their infrastructure remained secure. This issue also caused the City Colleges firewall to mis-categorize YouTube as a threat to our network and block access in turn. By Thursday, February 9, the CCC Network Security Team resolved these issues and CCC users are once again able to visit YouTube from within our network.
