For this 2012 Summer Edition of Monday Music, I thought we could have some fun. I’ll post some selections and y’all tell me what they have in common. You’ll have more (and better) opportunities to guess right as the weeks progress. If the answer comes forward, then pat yourself on the back, and I’ll be done. Perhaps I’ll slip a gift in your mailbox when I return in the Fall. The only rule is that you be exact with your guess. None of this coulda, woulda, shoulda answers. Be direct and to the point to earn your place in the history of The Lounge contests.
And the winner is…
Sadly or perhaps gratefully or neither, there was no winner to this contest. S’all right. Summer came and now it will slowly fade as the days begin to get shorter; or to be scientifically correct, the amount of sunlight per day will be less as the days progress and we earthlings wind our way around the sun, yet again, towards that other equinox.
In any case, it is only fair that I reveal the answer to the summer contest, but before I do, would you like one more hint?
If so go here or here or here.
If you’re done with hints, then go here. Or here. Or here. Try this one too.
Here’s the link I relied on week after week.
There you have it peeps. If you have any comments, feel free to leave ’em.
[Remember how I told you (mathissexy specifically) that it might have somethin’ to do with students? Well, just image: We have no idea what they’re downloadin’ these days, yet we try to make our courses relevant to their daily lives so that we help them to be successful. Perhaps bein’ a Black Eyed Pea is how they define success? Who knows, and that could be a problem (yes, so many other variables to consider) as we head into the Fall semester.]
Keep enjoyin’ the summer! Thanks for playing (even if you didn’t submit a guess)!
I wish I hadn’t read the answer. I was just thinking the other day that perhaps these songs were summer #1’s. I was closer than I thought. Thanks for putting this together Realist. See you at FDW?
Yes indeed mathissexy – on being close with the answer and FDW.
With FDW, I think it’s the least faculty can do to support CAST and to demonstrate our commitment to education.
If I don’t go to FDW, it’s like not going to spring training and expecting to have a good baseball season.
(STOP if you are reading this and think you can crack wise about the Cubs. ‘Specially if you’re a Sox fan. Just go to the games and support your team, ok? ok.)
Just because there is a tik tok tag:
