It is with a heavy heart that I share with you all the news of Peter Bernardini’s passing. No words can express the extent of the sorrow that I feel over his loss. Peter was a student in several of our classes, he was a support for our students with disabilities, a gifted actor in our theater productions, and a dear friend to many of us here at HW. He will always be remembered as a warm, gentle, genuine, loving young man.

Peter was a student a Whitney Young Magnet HS and a grad in the class of 1998. He was an outstanding young man who brought much happiness to all especially via his acting talent in the school’s theater group called “The Comapny”. Did he leave an impression on people? When my wife mentioned to our daughter that Peter had passed away she immediatley said – Wow I rememer his performance in “The Secret Garden.” She was about 11 at that time!

I am so sad to hear of Peter’s passing. I loved walking into the DAC at Harold Washington and seeing Peter’s smiling face. It was such a comfort to me that he was there for our students. Please pass along my condolences to Peter’s family. Their loss is a loss to all of us.
