I teach Child Development at Richard J. Daley College. In short, I see my role as FC4 President as being the voice of faculty & faculty council in (what I hope will be) a dialogue with our administration at the district level. I am committed to increasing faculty attendance and participation in our local Faculty Councils, at FC4 monthly meetings, and at our monthly Board meetings.
Jeni Meresman—Vice President
I teach English and Literature at Harold Washington and am also the Tenure Assistance Program Coordinator for the District. As the FC4 Vice President, I am committed to increasing faculty involvement in shared governance and faculty voice in institutional decisions. I am also committed to beginning cross-college conversations, including both faculty and administration, about our core values and vision for the CCCs and how we are using these to inform large institutional decisions.
In 1976 I joined the Wright College faculty and have taught courses including CIS, Social Science and Math. During these 40 years, I have served as CIS Department Chair, Local FC President, Union Officer for the Wright Chapter, and FC4 secretary. English is my third language and I still haven’t mastered the word “NO.” Education is not what it used to be. I think change is necessary, but we have to be very careful not to destroy the good with the bad.
