Friends of Harold Washington Scholarship

In case you missed it in your email (for announcing to your classes), The Friends of Harold Washington College, a group predominantly made up of retired faculty members, are giving away money to students:

The Award: The Friends of Harold Washington College (FHWC) is an organization of faculty, staff and administrators who have retired from full time service to the college. The Friends of Harold Washington College Graduation Award has been established to recognize the impact which Harold Washington College has had on graduating students. This award will be given at graduation as awardees transition to the next phase of their lives.

For Graduation 2010, the FHWC will recognize three students with awards of $1,000 each. One individual will be selected from each of the following categories: those receiving AA/AS/GS degrees, those receiving AAS degrees, and those having earned Advanced Certificates.

Eligibility Requirements for Graduation Award: Applicant will be graduating in May 2010 receiving an AA/AS/GS degree, an AAS degree, or an Advanced Certificate Applicant is nominated by two current faculty members, administrators and/or staff members at Harold Washington College Applicant submits the required essay

The Application Process: The application process includes: Meeting the eligibility requirements for the award Preparing and submitting the required essay Securing two nominations from current faculty members, administrators and/or staff members Agreeing to the conditions specified regarding the award
